FRIENDS OF THE OGC - MISSION STATEMENT
We are residents of the Old Golf Course (OGC) and local area who have banded together to inform the OGC property owners of the true costs of the Clear Lake City Water Authority (CLCWA) massive gutting of this 178 acres and to encourage everyone to save our home values, our mature trees and our beautiful community.
Our goals are:
a. to achieve a sensible, sane and realistic approach to water detention in the area
b. a fiscally responsible approach, guided by good management and sound accounting practices
c. protection of our property values
d. protection of our existing trees, wildlife and quality of life from environmental destruction
We wish to make the property owners aware of their rights to maintain their property values and quality of life. We want to be recognized by the Water Authority as a unified voice and get them to change their plans. We are aware that many people outside of the golf course make use of it as a recreational area. We very much appreciate their support.
We wish to maintain the beauty of the area for ourselves and future generations. We feel that the trees, forests, and ponds provide a home to wildlife that enhances our lives.
Join us in this worthy endeavor.
