Exploration Brown (published Sept 19,2013)
Doug Peterson and Allen Brown are just pleased as punch with the Water Authority's plan of devastation of our existing park (the former golf course). Allen Brown's description of "gathering community input" is totally false. Residents living along the golf course were never informed of these meetings. Many of the people attending were from Bay Oaks and Pine Brook. The committees were pre-loaded with chairpersons chosen by the water authority. None of them lived on the golf course. Any deviation from the WA's plan of digging out trenches to within 30 feet of our property lines was not allowed. In other words, committees were forced to come up with plans that could not deviate from the Water Authority's pre-conceived Master Plan. Doesn't sound to me as though they were interested in any ideas from residents. This has been a massive propaganda campaign from the beginning. Contact www.savetheogc.org to get the truth about their plans.
The Water Authority fooled us into approving a bond to purchase the golf course. The Water Authority will create huge ditches for the retention of treated sewage water. After taking out all of our green space, removing 99% of our trees, taking out our duck ponds, scalping the ground down to where nothing will grow, they want to call this "Exploration Green"? Since the Water Authority is going to fill the trenches they will dig with sewage water, I propose they call it "Exploration Brown" instead.
